Valentine’s Day Care Package
Our kids have been back at college for a month. Now it’s February. It’s cold. And sometimes it’s lonely. Even if they have a Valentine, a package from home with funny puns, snacks, and gifts will make their day. I have created care packages for my kids for 9 years. They have all graduated from college, but I still love to send them fun packages. My daughter is now in medical school, so this Valentine Care Package includes a few fun ideas just for medical students and others in healthcare.
This Valentine’s Care Package post includes FREE printable box decorations and the cute tags to place with the items. They are available in our Year of Care Package Printables.

Valentine’s Cay Care Package Ideas
#1 Valentine’s Day Care Package Idea: Create a Fun Care Package for your College Student
Select the items you want to include. It’s winter and cold in most of the country. Focus on comfort treats, cute puns, and a few practical items. I chose band aids, lip balm, soup, some soothing face masks, some Fiji White Sands hand soap (because wouldn’t we all like some Fiji white sands right now), and an adorable Valentine dish towel. My daughter lives in town, so the succulent is real. You can get a cute artificial succulent for mailing your box.

Grab a USPS Medium size flat rate box. You can get these free at the post office. Print out the Box decorations and tags. You will also need ribbon, a hole punch, and scissors. A paper cutter can be very handy especially if you have a group and need to cut out a lot of the tags and box decorations.

Download the Valentine’s care package printables. Print the box decorations on white card stock. You can print the tags on card stock or sticker paper. I like to print some on card stock and some on sticker paper depending on the item I am attaching it to.

There are 2 sets of the box decorations in the download – one set has cut lines to fit a USPS Medium Flat Rate boxes. The other set has no lines so you can cut them to fit any box.

Place your items in your box and tape it shut so you can mail it.
#2 Valentine’s Day Care Package Idea: Medical Student Care Package
My daughter is a medical student so I went hunting for some fun puns for items for her. OK. Medical humor can be well, a little, hmmm, medical, which means they talk about the kind of stuff the rest of us only talk about when we have to go see them. I am totally not sure if some of these are appropriate or not. But, Here they are.

These are the medical puns I came up with. I only have items for some of them. I could not think of an item to go with the tibia or humerus. You can cut them out and decorate your box with them or think of some fun item to attach them to.
The pillow and toilet paper are too big for a medium flat rate box, but feminine products are always needed and are not cheap. (These are a good idea for a college girl even without the silly pun.)

I had to get a big basket to fit her items. If your college or medical student is local (or you want to pay for a bigger box), baskets are great especially for dorm and apartment dwellers as they can be used for storage.

A cute basket is a a perfect container for a care package. It can be used for storage in a dorm room or apartment.
