What Are Your Favorite Movies About Graduation?

All movies are put in ABC order. We love all the movies on this list!

What Are Your Favorite Movies About Graduation

These movies all include stories about graduation.

Eclipse, movie 3 of the Twilight series -PG-13

Vampires. Werewolves. Love. Graduation and words of wisdom.

Grease -PG

I love this one because it’s what I thought my parents’ high school experience was, minus the music. And, they admit, it was much like that. The fair after graduation always looks so fun!

High School Musical 3: Senior Year -G

Singing, dancing, love, and graduation, the end of the senior year. What else do you need for a classic movie?

Ladybird -R

So much “real” in this movie. The mother/daughter relationship is spot on, and all of Lady Bird’s end-of-senior-year experiences ring true.

Mean Girls -PG-13

Graduation equals resolution in this great movie.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower -PG-13

The main character, Charlie, does not graduate, but his older friends do. The story follows Charlie through his freshman year as he learns so many things, especially about himself. Graduation signifies that there is always change, and that he will be okay as his friends grow up and move on.

Say Anything -PG13

This movie opens with graduation. Corny, and wonderful romance follows. There is nothing better than an ’80s teen movie!

She’s All That -PG13

Classic Pygmalion remake. Think My Fair Lady. There is a bet, a remake, and lots of predictable action. But it all works, and I loved the result. And, I was a nerd in high school, but still loved that Laney’s character stays true to herself even with a makeover… And, yes, the graduation scene is iconic.

The Spectacular Now -R

I love this one because it addresses the issues I think a lot of young people have with thinking that growing up might not be so great. And, how to live in the moment because this is the youngest you will ever be. Graduation comes at the end of this movie with serious conversations about what is to come…
