Best Podcasts for Empty Nesters

I love listening to podcasts. There are podcasts on every topic – true crime, hobbies, news, and of course, empty nesting. There are not very many just for empty nesters and even fewer that are currently producing episodes. I have only included recommendations for best podcasts for empty nesters if they are current.

Best Podcasts for Empty Nesters #1: Empty Nest Guests

Empty Nest Guests

Charlotte went looking for a Christian empty nest podcast and could not fine one, so she started her own. Charlotte conducts an interview style show where she visits with others who are either empty nesters or have expertise in an area facing empty nesters.

This podcast is definitely the best of the empty nest podcasts. Charlotte looks for true experts in their topics and covers her topics deeply. I wish she would record her episodes more regularly. She began creating episodes in 2020 and to date only has 61 shows.

I was her 2nd guest. Check out my episode on Empty Nest Transitions.

Best Podcasts for Empty Nesters #2: The Next Right Thing

The Next Right Thing

The Next Right Thing is a podcast for those navigating change and trying to make decisions. Sounds a lot like empty nesting! Emily is now an empty nester herself and discussed her new stage with her husband on episode 368: A New Season with John P. Freeman. I love Emily’s soothing voice and reassuring attitude. I also recommend her books The Next Right Thing and How to Walk into a Room.

Best Podcasts for Empty Nesters #3: College Parent Central

College Parent Central

New empty nesters are often parents of college students. Vicki Nelson’s podcast College Parent Central helps college parents navigate this transition in parenting with episodes on everything from helping your child in their relationship with their roommate to college student mental health and college preparation.

Best Podcasts for Empty Nesters #4: That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs

That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs

That Sounds Fun encourages listeners to evaluate where they are emotionally, spiritually, and physically through each season of the year (and season of life). The show includes episodes on Navigating Transitions and Building a Marriage that Wins in Every Season.

Best Podcasts for Empty Nesters #5: The Mel Robbins Podcast

The Mel Robbins Podcast

Mel Robbins is a New York Times best selling author and motivational speaker. Mel has access to world-renowned experts in fields of science and human behavior. She helps break down their expertise into practical steps to improve your life.

Her recent blockbuster of a book The Let Them Theory is a frequent topic on her podcast.

Best Podcasts for Empty Nesters #6: Sandwich Sanity Podcast

Sandwich Season Sanity

Empty nesters often find themselves sandwiched between still parenting their children and also parenting their parents. The stress is real and Ruthie Gray started this podcast to help. Ruthie shares her real-life experiences and offers practical tips for living in this part of the next phase.

I hope you will find these empty nest podcasts encouraging and helpful! The best podcasts are those that engage you in whatever you are interested in even if they are not specifically about empty nesting.
