How to Make a Finals Care Package:

#1 Step for your Finals Care Package: Gather Supplies

Select the items you want to include. Find a variety of sweet, salty, healthy, practical, and fun items. For this care package I chose Tide pods, Goldfish crackers, Nabisco cookie packages, Smart Water, a set of highlighters, Rolos candy, and hot chocolate supplies. Also don’t forget microwave popcorn so you will have the corn for poppin’!

You will also need ribbon, a hole punch, and scissors. A paper cutter can be very handy especially if you have a group and need to cut out a lot of the tags and box decorations. (You can scroll down to the “recipe” for a printable list of supplies.)

#2 Step for your Finals Care Package: Download the Printables

    finals care package printables

Download the finals care package printables. Print the box decorations and page one of the item tags on white card stock. I like to print the second page of the tags on sticker paper, but you can print those on white card stock if you prefer.

There are 2 sets of the box decorations – one set has cut lines to fit a USPS Medium Flat Rate boxes. The other set has no lines so you can cut them to fit any box.

#3 Step for your Finals Care Package: Attach the printables to the box

    Finals care pacakge

Attach your box decorations to the box with adhesive. I usually use double sided tape. Hot glue or any other adhesive works well also. A piece of 8 1/2″x11″ inch colored paper can be put in the bottom if you like.

#4 Step for your Finals Care Package: Cut the tags and attach to your items

    tide pods

Add the “Orange you glad it’s almost over! tag to a package of Tide Pods or something else orange. Hand soaps or cuties oranges work for this.

    Goldfish crackers 1

They are “O-fish-ally almost home” after a full semester of classes and exams. You can print some of the tags on sticker paper if you would rather stick them to your items than use ribbon. I usually do some of both – tie on tags and stickers.

    smart cookie

Your student is definitely “One Smart Cookie!”

    highlighters

And they are totally going to “Light Up those Tests!” I found some Christmas lights ribbon to up the pun.

    rolos

A roll or bag of Rolos or Tootsie Rolls keeps them on a roll.

    snowman soup

Snowman soup is the best for late night studying. Grab some favor bags, the snowman soup printable, hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, and mini candy canes. I used to put individual marshmallows in the bag, but somehow that does not seem that sanitary. I found this jar of marshmallows at Target.

    smart water

A large bottle of smart water will keep them hydrated because you can’t be smart if you are dehydrated.

More Ideas for items to Include in a Finals Care Package:

    • Do not forget the Popcorn for this finals care package!
    • No finals care package is complete without a bottle of Smart Water.
    • Tea bags
    • K Cups
    • Disposable seasonal plates, cups, and napkins
    • Healthy snacks like nuts and granola bars
    • Breakfast bars to grab on the run in the mornings
    • “You Got This” mug or other fun Winter mug for their Snowman Soup
    • Disposable to-go cups
    • Adorable straws like these Candy Cane Straws
    • Homemade treats like brownies, pumpkin chocolate chip bread, or cookies. The Monday Box has so many yummy recipes designed to go in care packages.
    • Anything you think would give your student a boost and a virtual hug from mom.
