Football: Gather Your Supplies

Gather these supplies to create your Football Care Package

Supply List:

White Cardstock Paper

Football Scrapbook Paper: I made these care packages several years ago. Amazon carries similar paper to what I used.

USPS Medium Flat Rate Box – available free at the post office. You can use any size box you want. This is the size I regularly use.

School Spirit Stickers: I made mine with a Cricut, but Amazon carries NCAA licensed stickers for the schools.

Snacks

A new school t-shirt or polo – Barnesmith carries NCAA apparel for 271 schools.

For the girls: If they don’t have a Clear Stadium Bag, they will need one to get into all NCAA events.

Do you have a student on the west coast? My Texas alum lives in Los Angeles now and coffee and a school spirit mug are appropriate gifts for him. I like this Granite School Mug available for 29 different schools. Perfect when your team kicks off at 9am!

Another helpful item for you is a paper cutter to cut down the box decorations. The paper cutter is especially helpful if you are having other moms over to create football care packages.

If you live in the state of the school, you may be able to easily find spirit items at Walmart or other places in town. My kids went to schools in Texas, but we live in Oklahoma – not a lot of University of Texas or Baylor items around here.

You can order things for all of the major schools from Amazon or search on the school bookstore website. I could stack 3 carts full at many retailers in Tulsa if my kids went to Oklahoma or Oklahoma State, but I have to order for the out-of-state school.

You also may be able to find things in the school colors even if you don’t live near the school.

Don’t forget the snacks. A salty snack and a sweet snack are good starters for watching away games.

Football Care Package: Assemble Your Box

  • Get your box decorations and items together
  • Cut the football scrapbook paper and the Are You Ready for Some Football printable to fit your box.
  • Personalize the box with a sticker with the logo of the school.
  • Tape or glue your box printables. I scotch tape mine to the box. I know some people hot glue them, but they don’t have to stay on the box forever, so tape works fine for me.

These are the boxes I made for my kids. They are both alums now, but still love getting care packages from mom.
