Are you wondering how to do a room makeover on a budget? This post will give you so many ideas, and they all cost less than $100!
First, let me say that I am NOT a DIYer. I have had teens though, and I have updated a number of bedrooms over time. There are so many easy ways to update a room for less than $100, so I am going to share some easy ideas with you.

Room Makeover On A Budget #1: Painting projects
Painted furniture project
Here are some ideas for DIY furniture projects.
A thrift store makeover to be exact. Or find an old piece of furniture from your own home or grandma’s house or a neighbor’s house…
This is a project for painting a dresser, but you could do any other piece of furniture.
Painting the ceiling
This is a little different twist on painting, but with the right plan, painting a ceiling could be cool. Or, paint a ceiling fan! You can use contact paper to update the fan as well.
Create an accent wall with paint
Here are a bunch of ways to use paint to create beautiful accent walls. This is a great idea if you don’t have a lot of money to spend on paint, yet want a pop of color for your teen’s room.

Paint the floor
Painting a floor is labor intensive, but not expensive. If you and your teen want to tackle a bigger project, this might be a good one. Here is another tutorial.

Paint a floorcloth
Have you seen a painted floorcloth? These are actually an old way to decorate floors. I even took a class on how to do these a few years ago. It was fun, and I will have to say that if I can do it, your teen can for sure do it!? You can make them with few supplies and very little money.
Supplies: drop cloth, flat white latex paint, variety of paint brushes, set of acrylic paints

Redo the closet
Sometimes if you start with the closet, the rest falls into place. A well organized closet can help the entire bedroom! Here are some easy and cheap ideas. A lot of times, a little organization goes a long way.

The art can be DIY or purchased or a combination. Either way, this is a wonderful way for your teen’s personality to shine through!
