September Care Package
September is a great time for a care package. The honeymoon period of the new school year is starting to wear off.
The dorm is feeling small, their classes are ramping up, and the first tests are on the horizon. It is the time when college students start to feel homesick. Put a September Care Package in the mail to boost their spirits and remind them of your love.
I chose September Days as the theme of this September care package. I have no idea who makes up all of these monthly themes and days, but they are official days to be celebrated.
These September care package printables are available in our store or join our Care Package Printables Club.

September Care Package: Gather Your Supplies
Gather these supplies to create your September Care Package
Supply List:
USPS Medium Flat Rate Box – available free at the post office (the printables are designed to fit this size box, but you can cut them to any size you wish.)
Breakfast foods like individual cereal packs or breakfast bars because September is All American Breakfast Month. Most kids don’t make it to the cafeteria before class so grab and go breakfast foods are a must.
Coffee pods, ground coffee, or a coffee shop gift card will help them celebrate National Coffee Day on September 29.
Two sweets for Eat an Extra Dessert Day on September 13.
Rice Krispie Treats for Rice Krispie Treat Day on September 18
Macadamia nuts for National Macadamia Nut Day on September 4.
An Apple for International Eat an Apple Day on September 21. Here’s an apple squishy stress toy for them to squeeze when needed!
If they attend a football school, September 7 is National Tailgating Day. Include something to celebrate football like spirit wear. Only clear bags are allowed in NCAA stadiums so a clear stadium bag is perfect if they don’t have one.
School supplies or hand sanitizer for their backpack. September 18 is National Backpack Awareness Day.
Throw in a prepaid Visa, gift card to their favorite pizza place, or cash in an envelope so they can celebrate Cheese Pizza Day on September 5 and Pepperoni Pizza Day on September 20.
Because every day should be International Chocolate Day (September 13) be sure to include something chocolate.
The first day of fall is September 22 so a fall mug like this Hello Fall Mug or other fall item is a must.
And finally, September 1 is National No Rhyme or Reason Day. Include anything they would love and would remind them how much you are thinking about them.
Another helpful item for you is a paper cutter to cut out the tags and the box decorations. The paper cutter is especially helpful if you are having other moms over to create spring finals care packages.

Print the stickers and tags and attach to your items with fun ribbon.
You can pick and choose which dates to use and whether you want to print things on card stock and tie the tags on or print on sticker paper and stick them on. I always print the sheets twice – once on card stock and once on sticker paper and then do a variety.

Silly puns make going back to school something to look forward to. You can print the tags on cardstock or on printable sticker paper depending on how you want to attach them to your gifts. I like to do a combination of both.

September Care Package: Assemble Your Box
- Get your box decorations and tags in our store.
- Follow the instructions included with the decorations and tags.
- Tape or glue your box printables. I scotch tape mine to the box. I know some people hot glue them, but they don’t have to stay on the box forever, so tape works fine for me.
