Outdoor Country Wedding Ideas
Three years ago, our middle son, Will, got married. I am finally sitting down to write this post about a wonderful event. Simple outdoor country wedding ideas came together as a post in my head a few weeks ago, and I have been adding pictures and ideas to it ever since. My daughter-in-law and her parents did a wonderful job bringing to life her inspiration.
The happy couple is living their best life with two kids and another on the way!
*Almost all of these pictures were taken by Hanleigh’s sister -isn’t she talented??

Outdoor Country Wedding Ideas
There are so many ways to have an outdoor wedding. You can go all out like Melanie in Sweet Home Alabama or pare it down to just the people you love the most, as was the case in my son’s wedding. And, it was absolutely beautiful! This was most of the gathering. Don’t forget bug spray!

Outdoor Country Wedding Ideas: Choose the location for the wedding
My son’s wife, Hanleigh, comes from a small town in southern Missouri, and together they bought some land from her family. The wedding took place on their land, next to their favorite tree. All that needed to be done was some mowing and to gather some seating. They used old church pews and a couple of benches. There were fewer than 25 people in attendance, including the preacher.
Outdoor Country Wedding Ideas: Food and Drink
The food was catered by a local restaurant and served buffet style. The only thing missing was fly screens, which of course no one thought of until we needed them!
The cake was beautiful! Hanleigh’s mom made it and several cupcakes -all were delicious!

Outdoor Country Wedding Ideas: Decorations
Other than the seating, the only other decorations needed were flowers. Hanleigh did them herself the day of the wedding!

Outdoor Country Wedding Ideas: Table Decor and Welcome Sign
Hanleigh used china she had collected since she was a teenager and rented 50 brass candlesticks from Facebook Marketplace! Her table was stunning!
She used old barn wood and found some table legs at an antique store to have Will build her some tables. The chairs are all antiques, and each was unique. The welcome sign was letters from Etsy on an antique mirror. I love that it reflects the table.

We moved all the chairs from the table and placed the brass candlesticks on them. It was stunning!

Some afterthoughts from the bride…
Don’t breed cows the morning of your wedding. Ask for more help. Know that it is all going to be wonderful!
